How do I know if my eBike is affected?If you have any of the following Lectric eBikes models purchased from November 1st 2022 to May 6th 2023, your brakes require a replacement: XP 3.0 XP 3.0 Long-Range XP Step-Thru 3.0 XP Step-Thru 3.0 Long-Range All eBikes not specified in the list above are not included in the brake recall.

I no longer have my XP 3.0 eBike because I’ve sold it or given it away. What should I do?If you are in contact with the buyer, please have them review this page and contact us by phone at 877-479-5422, Monday-Friday, 8 AM ET to 8 PM ET. Lectric eBikes will replace any brakes affected by this recall, regardless of whether the rider is the original owner.

Why are the brakes being recalled?Based on our research, due to a defect in a subset of XP 3.0 eBikes, the mechanical disc brake calipers located on the front and rear of the e-bike can fail resulting in loss of control, posing crash and injury hazards to the rider.

What would indicate that my XP 3.0 brakes are defective?Out of abundance of caution, we are recommending replacing the mechanical brakes on all XP 3.0 bikes that were purchased from November 1st, 2022 to May 6th, 2023 regardless of if you experience issues.

My brakes seem fine, and I have not had any issues when riding. Can I keep my brakes?No. Even though it may appear to be safe, if the eBike is an affected eBike, we are asking you to immediately stop using the eBike and participate in the recall by ensuring you get a free replacement brake kit.

I have identified my eBike as included in the recall. What are my options?You should participate in the recall by registering. Please visit the “Home” page to register.

I have an XP 3.0 eBike on order that has not yet been shipped/delivered. What are my options?Your order will be shipped with upgraded brakes, and thus will not be a part of this recall.

I got the hydraulic kit. Do I need the mechanical?The mechanical brake replacement is the CPSC approved remedy for the recall. The hydraulic brake upgrade is a separate program that started on 5/16/23 and ended on 7/31/23. The only brakes that need to be replaced are the original brakes that came with your XP 3.0.
